special mixture of delicately balanced soil for nursery seeding,
to planting,
to harvesting, to shipping – we use hand cultural practices
to grow
each and every Oceanside Produce tomato.
We know that by controlling a seed’s beginnings –
its exposure to sun,
temperature, and moisture content -- we can ensure a higher
rate of healthy
plant with less susceptibility to disease. We also effect a
greater seedling-to-plant
success ratio; ours is more than 95%. Once field-planted, we
continue the
same attention to each vine throughout its life cycle, securing
it to the pole by
hand and giving it many prunings to ensure healthy growth.
